LOVING LAURA
Loving Laura it's the story of two women who work in the sex industry and rapidly fall for each other. The relationship quickly turns into a toxic, tangled net in this gritty and powerful graphic novel.
This is one of three projects that I've pitched during the pandemic and that is now being developed for the American market.
For Loving Laura, I wrote the original synopsis and the script. It’s a gritty, powerful and disturbing story about two women, their atypical line of work, and their friendship which rapidly develops into an obsessive and toxic relationship.
Loving Laura is a psychological thriller where two women find power and self-confirmation, but at the same time, it’s a story about tainted love, jealousy and disgrace. The greatest challenge here was to depict two characters who are involved in sex work and promiscuous lifestyles without falling into clichés and stereotypes. Thanks to a long period of research and peers' feedback, I managed to overcome the obstacle and pitch the story to the American market.
